However, when the two of us were down there in the winter, the two of us relied more on a space heater.
For some reason, I tend to be one of those people who can get absolutely locked into routine & tradition. This is sort of baffling given our general perspective. If I had to option a word for it I’d say generally progressive when it comes to our viewpoint on life. I like to see the positive & I’m out there living life more than I’m hiding inside the air conditioner of our house. But for some reason, I tend to see some things one way & it takes a good deal of effort to realize that I’m just plain wrong. Like I said, this is unlike me. However, a recent HVAC experience might have been a sign that I’m growing out of that sort of mindset. The two of us are lucky enough to have a small beach house the two of us share with the other members of our family. It’s just a tiny little site that has been in our family for generations. And it’s essentially the same as it was when I was a kid. My wife & I try to get down there as often as the two of us can on our own or join one of our siblings & their family. So on a recent trip, the issue of heating & cooling the beach house came up. There absolutely hadn’t ever been much typical HVAC. There was some basic electric heating system in the baseboard heating. However, when the two of us were down there in the winter, the two of us relied more on a space heater. And there were just fans in the summer. When our sibling brought up installing a ductless heat pump, our initial reaction was not to change tradition. But I inspected myself & agreed instead. Boy, am I blissful I did because it feels great.
