Living in the land of the heat pump

It’s summertime where I live.

And when I walk out the door of my house, there is a respected sound of the season.

It’s the sound of a chorus of heat pumps doing their thing. It’s the sound of cooling happening all over the city. And it’s just sort of a soundtrack of Summer around here. Living in this region also means that I’m living in the land where the heat pump is king. This is super great with myself and others plus I wouldn’t have it any other way. Having a heat pump mean excellent cooling in the Summer plus an abundance of heating while in the mild Winter time weather. I’ve lived in other regions where heating a home took a boiler or a gas oil furnace. That’s just not where I want to be. While those regions have lots to offer plus are appealing in many respects, I can’t do that kind of winter. When I lived where the gas oil furnace was the preferred heating method, it was pretty brutal really. For the most part, if the gas oil furnace was running, I didn’t want to be anywhere however inside. Let myself and others tell you, that was a real change for me. I have the pictures to prove it. I ballooned by nearly forty pounds over the time I spent in the north. But once I got back to my roots in the land of the heat pump, I was no longer so sedentary while in the winter. I also wasn’t so dang cold either. So I’ll put up with 4 weeks of intense heat to trade off for perfect weather the rest of the year. And I can count on the heat pump to keep myself and others cool for those 4 weeks.
