My child came into the house yeahterday, and she was shivering.
It was nearly ninety degrees outside, and I had no idea how she could be so cold.
I evaluated her temperature to make sure she didn’t have a fever. She had been at our neighbor’s pool all afternoon, and I couldn’t guess the water was that cold. Her lips were purple and she had goosebumps. She asked if I could turn on the heat so she could get warm. I told him it wasn’t chilly enough to turn on the furnace. The two of us were in the middle of a heatwave. The only thing I wanted running was the I put him to bed, and put an electric blanket over him. I called the dentist and told him I wanted an appointment. When my wife got lake house from work, I told him both of us had a dentist’s appointment in about an hour, and told him what happened with our kid. She went upstairs to check on him, and she appeared to be fine. My wife questioned him about being so cold, she wanted to have the furnace on. My wife came downstairs laughing, and she told me to call and cancel the dentist’s appointment. Bobby and her neighbor thought the pool water was too hot, so they decided to sit in the chest freezer for half an hour. They took all the bags of ice out and put them in the pool to try to cool the water off. Then they climbed in the freezer. I was ecstatic they didn’t close the lid while they were in there.
