As soon as she answered, I told her that if she put me on hold, I was going to call the owner of the HVAC company
My husband left me a note on the refrigerator the other day. I had the day off work and he wanted me to call the HVAC company and make an appointment to have the furnace serviced. He said it was never too early to take care of the furnace, since it was already August. I picked up the phone and went to contact them. When I pressed the call button, I was immediately put on hold. I waited ten minutes and then I hung up. I called back again, and I was put on hold again. I thought that maybe the receptionist wasn’t there yet, all the HVAC service techs could already be out on jobs, and there was no one to answer the phone. It was barely seven in the morning. I got my shower, made breakfast, and cleaned the kitchen before calling the HVAC company again. The phone was answered by the reception, and after a brief greeting, she asked me to please hold for a moment. Over an hour had passed when I realized how much work I had completed, and the music was still playing. I hung up the phone, and called back again. When she answered and asked if I could please hold, I said no, but she was quick to hit the hold button. I called back immediately. As soon as she answered, I told her that if she put me on hold, I was going to call the owner of the HVAC company. She curtly told me she was his wife, and if the regular receptionist hadn’t decided to have her baby early, I wouldn’t be put on hold. I gave her my name and asked to be put on the callback list.
