I don’t know about you, but I am tired of trying to afford to live. It’s more and more expensive all the time and you get less and less out of life for your basic paycheck. I feel like no matter what I try to do, I’m always at a deficit at the end of the month when I check my bank account. The more that I try to save, the more I feel frustrated by my inability. I have been doing my best to make my house energy efficient so I could cut down on my utility bills, theoretically. I have sealed up my entire house with extra insulation around all of the doors and windows. I have put in double paned windows to maximize the amount of treated air that stays inside the house. I have done everything I can to keep the hot and humid air outside the house. However, it seems like nothing really helps me in the winter time. The house is always extremely drafty and I am always adjusting the thermostat trying to increase the indoor air temperature. No matter what, I still feel cold and unfulfilled with my heating, cooling, and air quality control system. Nothing could have been worse than last year, however. Not only did the house have uneven, icy cold temperatures throughout the rooms… But my entire furnace stopped working. I didn’t have any extra money to get the large heating system repaired by a professional heating, cooling, and air quality control dealership. Instead, I had to rely on my traditional fireplace to continually add heat into the space. After three months of saving without HVAC, I was ready to give up on modern life entirely.
Can’t afford furnace repair – relying on fireplace
