Sometimes I end up working for a customer that wants to ask questions during the entire service appointment.
I really don’t mind answering all of the questions, but there are times when I need to concentrate.
A few weeks ago I was working on a ductless AC installation job. The customer remodeled the living room in their home and they decided to add a ductless AC unit to the living room. I thought it was a great idea because the customer added windows throughout that room and they let a lot of heat and sunlight into the room. The sun room looks fantastic, but it does add a lot of sun. The customer called my company a couple of days before he wanted to schedule the ductless AC installation job. I was working that Saturday, so I decided to take care of the installation job on my own. As soon as I arrived, the customer started asking questions about the installation job. I tried to answer the questions as I started preparing the area for the work. I was trying to move quickly and methodically, but the customer continued to ask more and more questions. I didn’t want to be rude, but I needed to concentrate on the past and I couldn’t answer questions and work at the same time. I finally told the customer that I needed to focus on the ductless AC installation job and he left the room. Unfortunately, he came back 10 minutes later and continued to ask more questions until I finished the job 6 hours later.
