I am immense about bringing natural light into the home.
- My hubby & I are surrounded by trees & it makes the inside of our apartment dark, however both of us have added tons of high powered, recessed lights.
Both of us have painted all the home offices white & put down light gray stone floors, and the condo still isn’t truly bright, and now I am moving onto adding windows & making existing 1s larger. The dining room window expanded a foot. The laundry room has its own window, then i then added sliding glass doors in the dining room, however all that glass does create a lot of natural light. It makes the apartment look larger & airy! What it also does is make everything hotter though. The sunlight now comes pouring into the house. The dining room is downright boiling now. Washing dishes isn’t comfortable with the sunlight coming in. My hubby & I never owned an AC until the two of us changed our windows. The trees supply shade & our section wasn’t that hot. With all the current sunshine coming in, AC became a must. Thankfully our apartment was outfitted with air duct that could still be used. Both of us had a Heating plus A/C dealership install central air conditioning to the house. Now the two of us are no longer hot in any room for the house, and having that cold air while the two of us were in the peak of Summer is a truly nice perk. It added value to our apartment as well. It is discouraging that the two of us had to buy more after spending a bunch on current windows. Will the constant expenses never stop?
