When I found out I was having a girl, I vowed to encourage her to be the best she can be in life.
I grew up at a time when parents were opening up to women to daughters working in male dominated industries.
And this is why I became an accountant. While many don’t view it as a glamorous job, I love numbers and enjoy working for different companies. When my daughter turned 8, she said she wanted to become an accountant like mommy. But, she had to work on her math skills. Instead of pushing her to what I am good at, I encouraged her to do more mechanical work. She loved repairing cars with her dad and was so good at it. Eventually, she informed us that she was going to be a HVAC expert. The HVAC industry is doing amazing things when it comes to HVAC technology. She was so fascinated the first time we had an HVAC expert install a smart thermostat in our home. We had to set rules so she doesn’t dismantle this new control unit to see how it functions. I know my daughter will make a wonderful HVAC professional because she truly loves working on heating and cooling units. All HVAC experts who come to our home are asked so many questions about different features. Thankfully, they’re always willing to answer her and even show how different units work. Before she can become a HVAC expert, she has to finish high school. I’m not too worried about her grades because she’s been doing amazing ever since she chose her career path.
