I had to laugh last week, when I was looking for a space heater to keep our bedroom warm while we were remodelling.
They had to remove the baseboard heaters to install the new flooring, and I didn’t want to freeze.
My husband told me to go to the home center, and I should be able to find one. I walked in, but there were no space heaters available. I asked where they kept them, and the guy looked at me like I was crazy. It said they were now getting their spring and summer inventory out. The winter inventory was getting put away for next year. It was my turn to look at him like he was the crazy one. I reminded him it wasn’t even Christmas, and it was too early to put away the winter inventory. He told me he does what management tells him to do, and he was pulling out the air conditioning units. If they had been on sale, I would have bought one for the summer, but they didn’t even have good prices on them, let alone have sale prices. I wasn’t buying his reasons for selling air conditioners this early in the year. Winter hadn’t even begun yet, and I wasn’t happy. He told me that if I wanted a space heater for the winter, I should go online and buy one in their online winter sale. When I found out how much it was going to cost for the shipping, I backed away for a while. I had to think kore about the space heater, before paying almost fifty dollars for shipping.
I went looking for a space heater, but all I found were air conditioning units.
