I really don’t feel like an old guy except when I look in the mirror or my body reminds me with the aches and pains.
Yet, I am in fact a 77 year old person.
And that’s old anyway you cut it. Honestly, it’s really not all that bad. I’ve never been one to go for sitting in the commercial HVAC of the office each day then hitting the recliner in the central air conditioning of my home as a routine. Being active like that really has paid off now that I’m older. Still, my body hurts more now and it takes me a lot longer to recover from a long day. I’m glad to still keep taking care of my body in order to keep moving. At 77, I just did something that I’ve always wanted to do. I finished a custom home build. After my wife died and I moved to where there’s more of a four season situation, I lived initially in an apartment. That was fine but I always had problems with the HVAC equipment and loud neighbors. There’s never enough heating when it’s really cold and never enough cooling when it was really hot. So that sort of pushed me in to wanting to build my own little place. So it’s a two bedroom spot that’s plenty big enough for me and my new girlfriend. But the biggest bonus is the fact that I have a geothermal heat pump. It’s super efficient but I really love the radiant floor heating. It takes me back to when I was a little boy and my parents had a house with a big boiler in the basement and radiant heating all through the house. It’s an awesome house with the best quality heating and air ever.
