I’m not sure why we thought it would be a great idea to go camping during winter.
Perhaps it was a peer-pressure thing that had us making insane plans.
But, somehow, my college buddies and I decided to go on an epic adventure. We had come across an ad for a winter camping ground. This place was in a remote location and the winter wonderland views were out of this world. So, we chose to pick one weekend and set off to explore this beautiful location. The campground instructor was amazing and helped us set up. But, she also kept saying there were warm glamping accommodations available if we felt it was too cold to sleep in a tent. At that time, we thought she was just trying to mess with us. But, by midnight, we were all hurdled in front of a small furnace in one of the glamping accommodations. We’d never been so cold in our lives. To make matters worse, it snowed heavily and temperatures dropped even further. The lady was gracious enough to reserve one glamping tent for us even though we had told her not to mind. She explained she always kept a furnace running in an extra one if there were guests camping out in the snow. Many would give up with the epic adventure at around 11 pm when it got too cold to be outside. We had tried using portable space heaters to warm our tents, but there was no use. The best thing to do was let go of our pride and run into the glamping accommodation to get warm. Thankfully, the furnace had already warmed up the space by the time we got inside.
