Recently my air conditioning system has been giving me some problems.
The problem is that it seems like no matter what I set my thermostat to the house will not be the temperature I set it to.
I’m not sure if it’s my air conditioning system, or if it’s my heating system, or what it is. All I know is that I’m in the summer months right now, it’s hot outside and I’m dying from the heat and I turn my cooling system on and I see that the thermostat shows the temperature going down but I don’t hear the air conditioning system kick on and I don’t feel any cool air coming from my air vents. It’s definitely a frustrating problem because as far as I know my thermostat is working completely fine but yet my heating and cooling system isn’t updating the temperature to what I said it to. I decided to just go and schedule an appointment with my local heating and AC business and have a cooling specialist come out and take a look at the problem. When the cooling guy came out he took a look at my heating and AC unit and told me that there was nothing wrong with either my heater or my air conditioning system. When he told me this I knew he had to be wrong because nothing was working when I set the temperature. However he corrected me and told me that my HVAC system was fine, the problem was my thermostat. It was my thermostat that wasn’t working, not my heating and AC system. He suggested I replace my thermostat. I wanted to just repair it but it looked like it was too far gone. I guess it came out of good time because I’ve been thinking about upgrading to a Smart thermostat anyways.
