I always forget how useful air conditioning is until I am without it.
Today is a great reminder of why I love HVAC technology and why I could never live without it.
I agreed to go with my husband to a meeting that was taking place outside. This was unfortunate, since it was in the 90s outside. The meeting was only supposed to last 20 minutes, but that 20 minutes turned into an hour due to some issues and delays. The first 15 minutes wasn’t so bad, but when the sun started shining directly on us, I started really feeling the heat. Thirty minutes later, I was sweating profusely and fanning myself. All I could think about was my wonderfully air conditioned home, and how badly I wanted to sit in front of the A/C vents right now. I looked over at my husband and noticed he had very obvious sweat stains down his back and front. I felt bad for him as well, and we exchanged a look that meant we needed to leave asap. Finally, when the meeting was coming to a close, we gave an excuse to leave early and then practically bolted towards the car. Our hands touched the A/C knob inside our car at the same time, and we turned the A/C on. The car ride back home was a nice cool one, and we were beginning to finally feel relaxed. When we made it back to our home, we both sat close to the cooling vents, and fully relaxed there.
