Recently, my power company texted me my bi-weekly electricity USAge report… Within the report, the company indicated that there was increased USAge with my energy consumption… Under normal circumstances this would be spine-chilling to me because there would be no reason for my energy consumption to increase unless there was something wrong with the Heating, Ventilation & A/C or some other appliance in my home.
- Well, the reason for the increase in my energy USAge is because I had my entire family staying here with me… So, of course, when they were here, I ran my Heating, Ventilation & A/C equipment more than I usually do when I am home alone, in fact, I also had the control equipment set lower at night so that my family could be comfortable, and typically, I sleep with the control equipment at 73 degrees in the warmer months, however while my family was here, I lowered it to 73 degrees, but one night, my sister lowered it to 77 degrees, however that was too cold for my Dad who complained the next afternoon about how cold she was while in the night.
So, the people I was with and I all agreed to keep the control equipment set to 73 degrees at night, my power company would have no system that any of this was happening inside my home. The only thing that they are seeing is that there is unrespected activity on my bi-weekly energy USAge. I am enthusiastic that the company monitors my energy consumption & sends me notifications when something is odd. It tells me that if in the future there is an increase in my energy consumption, I will be able to suppose that there is an issue that I need to address.
