If your home does not have radiant heated floors, I firmly believe that you simply are unaware of what you are missing.
Last summer, my house had radiant heating.
Installing radiant heating in your home during the summer may seem strange because there is no reason to heat it when the weather is already hot. However, my local heating and cooling company was offering a 30% discount on radiant heating purchases, and since it seems to sell best in the summer and fewer people were buying radiant heated flooring at the time, I decided to buy it now rather than wait until the winter to install it in my house. If you’re trying to keep your home cool, I know you might be thinking that doing that will only make it hotter. When the heaters are on, what would I do? The good news is that I can disable them. The cold winter months are when I’ll really miss the heat, so I won’t be running my heated floors during the sweltering summer. It will be useful when I want my house to be toasty, but in the meantime, I’ll continue to use my air conditioner. I haven’t yet used my radiant heated floors, but I do think that if you don’t have them, you don’t know what you’re missing because I have a friend who also has them, and I’ve been through the house and they’re amazing. That’s what motivated me to purchase some of my own. In a way, I’m glad I purchased them during the summer because I was able to make a small financial saving, but I also look forward to the coming of winter when I can put everything to use.
