I did look at the fact that I could afford to go to school for HVAC and not have a life-long loan to pay off
When most people look for a career, they seem to look at how much money they will make. My best friend kept telling me he wanted to be a professional. He considered being a doctor. When he figured out how many years he had to go to school, how much he would make as an intern, how many hours he would put in, and the cost for license and insurance, he changed his mind. He then considered being a lawyer. School was expensive and it was a lot of work, but you could take the bar exam right away and be a paralegal while waiting for your bar exam results. Even paralegals made decent money, even if it was to do all the work for the lawyers and then the got all the press for how good they are. I guess it was just that they were good orators and knew how to present the case. He thought being a lawyer was a good place for him. I wanted to be an HVAC technician. Never once did I look at how much money I could make as an HVAC technician. I did look at the fact that I could afford to go to school for HVAC and not have a life-long loan to pay off. I could pay off the loan in less than two years. I wanted to be an HVAC technician because my dad was an HVAC technician. Because of dad, I thought being an HVAC technician was one of the best professions in the world, and I was proud to be going to HVAC school.
