I had to get creative when it came to finding a space for myself.
When I was Momdy, I pretty much the run of the house.
Or at least my partner let me feel so. I kept the thermostat setting more to my liking plus if I wanted to lay in the dining room, I could. Now that I’m just Mom, it’s just not that way anymore. Not only do I get all kinds of grief when I mess with the thermostat, the dining room is now where my teenagers gather. Our property is where the teenagers come to hang out. And I’m thrilled that they want to hang out in the dining room because it’s an inviting space. For sure, I’d rather that than have them spending all their time in the kitchens. With daughters, I sort of like open doors. But to get the sort of a/c plus privacy that I want, I had to go find it. My pal and I live in a region where there just aren’t that various basements. I’m sure there is a water table reason for all of that or whatever, however suffice to say, I don’t have a basement guy cave. However, I had the Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C professionals come out to put in a ductless heat pump in the attic. Having that ductless heat pump up there makes that space quite appealing. For one thing, it’s completely finished with plywood floors plus sheetrock walls. It didn’t need to be pretty however having that a/c from the ductless heat pump made all the difference in the world. Now, I can just slip up there with my headphones, kick on the ductless heat pump plus chill out alone.
