HVAC makes attic usable space

I had to get creative when it came to finding a space for myself.

When I was daddy, I pretty much the run of the house.

Or at least my wife let me think so. I kept the thermostat setting more to my liking and if I wanted to sit in the living room, I could. Now that I’m just dad, it’s just not that way anymore. Not only do I get all kinds of grief when I mess with the thermostat, the living room is now where my kids gather. Our home is where the kids come to hang out. And I’m glad that they want to hang out in the living room because it’s an inviting space. For sure, I’d rather that than have them spending all their time in the bedrooms. With daughters, I sort of like open doors. But to get the sort of air conditioning and privacy that I want, I had to go find it. We live in a region where there just aren’t that many basements. I’m sure there is a water table reason for all of that or whatever, but suffice to say, I don’t have a basement man cave. However, I had the HVAC professionals come out to put in a ductless heat pump in the attic. Having that ductless heat pump up there makes that space quite lovely. For one thing, it’s completely finished with plywood floors and sheetrock walls. It didn’t need to be pretty but having that air conditioning from the ductless heat pump made all the difference in the world. Now, I can just slip up there with my headphones, kick on the ductless heat pump and chill out alone.
