Several years ago, I moved to the southern part of the country, and while I love it here, the weather can be pretty brutal.
In fact, we are in the middle of our second heatwave for the season and it’s not even Summer yet.
So, who knows what’s to come this year. Anyway, a few weeks ago, we had a major heatwave where the temperatures rose into triple digits for 4 consecutive days. At first, things were fine, but then my air conditioner decided to break down after the second day of the heatwave. I rent a 2-bedroom townhouse, so when the air conditioner broke down, I immediately contacted the landlord. In my head, I believed that I would have air conditioning the next day. However, I was shocked when my landlord told me that it would take several days to get the air conditioner fixed. Apparently, due to the heatwave, there was a high demand for service. I guess my air conditioner wasn’t the only one that broke down during that time. If you have never lived without an air conditioner in the middle of a heatwave, let me assure you that you don’t ever want to deal with that. In my opinion, it was one of the most miserable experiences that I have had in my town to date. Thankfully, my landlord was able to provide a temporary solution, he provided a portable air conditioner. While the portable air conditioner can only cool small spaces, it kept my bedroom cool. So, I was able to sleep comfortably at night. It took 4 days to fix the air conditioner and I couldn’t have been more excited when it was back up and running.
