Of course, it didn’t hurt when they started the HVAC service plan so we didn’t have to do the remembering
It took 26 years for that old heat pump to give out. And man, it made it all the way to the end in great form. We bought this house almost 15 years ago. This was one of those situations that we simply couldn’t pass up. We have a realtor friend who got this house listing and the seller had to go and go quick. We were lucky to be able to get into this house and the property for such a bargain. But part of that deal was that we would take the house as it was. There were no residential HVAC upgrades or a new roof or anything. In fact, we had to have a company come in and clean the house top to bottom before we moved in. So we inherited what would turn out to be just champion quality heating and cooling equipment. This region is fortunate to be situated just southern enough that we don’t need a gas furnace for Winter. The heat pump takes care of all our heating and cooling needs. When we moved in, we called the HVAC company that we had used before. They are local HVAC professionals who have a stellar reputation in this town. So they started with HVAC maintenance in the Spring and Fall right away. We never missed an HVAC maintenance appointment in all those years. Of course, it didn’t hurt when they started the HVAC service plan so we didn’t have to do the remembering. That heat pump never had a single second of trouble until last Summer when it just couldn’t meet demand without running almost continuously in August. But man, 26 Winters and Summers is really getting it done.
