After 2 years of working part time in real estate, I just purchased my first investment property.
- It’s an adorable 2-bedroom bungalow that is located in a secluded part of town.
It’s a fixer-upper, so before I can rent it, I will need to renovate the entire home. Luckily, my husband owns a small construction company, so I should have no issues with the remodeling efforts. When we purchased the home, we knew that it needed a lot of work, but the house was so cute that my vision for it outweighed the upfront cost to renovate the home. Aside from the renovation, the house did not have an HVAC unit. In fact, the only climate control that it had were 2 old air conditioners that barely worked. So, I knew I needed to purchase some form of air conditioning for the home. My husband chatted with our HVAC technician, and he suggested that we purchase a ductless mini split air conditioner with multiple air handlers. Since the home had no ductwork, the HVAC technician stated that the mini split air conditioner was the best as well as the cheapest option for climate control. Moreover, he stated that the units are the most efficient HVAC systems on the market, and they provide both heating and cooling. Plus, with good maintenance, they have a lifespan of up to 15 years. Lastly, he mentioned that the installation is easy and that we can perform the yearly maintenance ourselves. After hearing about all the advantages of the ductless mini split air conditioner we were sold and plan on installing one as part of the renovations.
