I have been married to my husband for about eleven years now and before that we dated for three years. When we first started dating we were both still in college and funds were tight. I lived with four other girls to keep my rent down, but I was still struggling to pay the bills even with two jobs. My now husband was the same way, he lived in a gross house with five other guys. That place was a pig pen and I never wanted to go over and visit him there. I always made him come over to my place. The worst part about staying at his house was that he didn’t have central air conditioning. We would all have to gather around one small window air conditioning unit in the living room and use a portable fan in his bedroom. I can’t even describe the smell in that house, just imaging six guys in one house with only one small window air conditioning unit. It always smelled so awful and they had a huge dog to make matters worse. So, back then he would always come to my house where we had central air conditioning that we always kept at a comfortable 72 degrees. We also had a furnace for the winter time which he did not have. We live in a northern part of the country so the winters can get really cold. So having a working furnace is great. It is also nice to have him around if we ever need someone to ignite the pilot light on the furnace!
