It Was Smarter To Replace My Furnace

I’ve been dealing with furnace problems ever since I moved into this house.

  • I knew that the furnace was over a decade old and that I’d probably experience a few setbacks here and there.

However, I wasn’t expecting the frequency of problems or how expensive they would be. I assumed that I’d be able to hire an HVAC company twice per year to service my HVAC system and get by with a moderate utility bill. Unfortunately, my furnace has only gotten worse with age and I’ve spent a lot of money on repairs and utility bills. After airing my complaints about my furnace to the HVAC company, they suggested that I look into replacing the furnace altogether. In fact, they told me that a new furnace was the only solution. My furnace was well past its “due date” and my expensive utility bills were never going to drop low enough to keep it. The furnace would always need repairs and I’d end up paying more on monthly utility bills than a new furnace if I kept using it. I couldn’t stand the idea of paying more for my monthly utility bills, so I had no choice but to replace the furnace. New furnaces were expensive, but it made more financial sense to buy one then to leave the one I had. Thankfully, there was financing available to help me afford the brand new furnace. I could gradually pay off the furnace without breaking the bank, while reaping the benefits of a highly efficient, state of the art furnace.
