Living with Someone with Different Temperature Preferences

My best acquaintance Sarah is crazy.

I care about Sarah to death, and we are really the truly best of friends.

My friend and I have known each other since fifth grade, and we have been inseparable ever since then. My friend and I are both single girls at the time, so we decided to rent an apartment together since it was cheaper, and it would be safer for us. My friend and I undoubtedly care about all that we get to do together. The only time we are ever separated is while we are at work. I am a mentor, and Sarah works at a meat factory. It boggles my mind to know that she works at a meat factory when she has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She says she likes her task, and it pays pretty well. However, she has come dwelling with pneumonia four times in the past two years because of how chilly she is all afternoon long. Because the employees are chopping fresh meat all afternoon, the factory has to be kept at a truly cool temperature. Sarah is a undoubtedly small woman; she’s 5’2 and weighs less than a hundred pounds. Her little body just can’t take the cold. She has the thermostat in our apartment turned up to eighty degrees year round because she is so chilly all the time. I keep trying to tell her that laboring in this factory is not enjoyable for her, even though she insists that she’s nice and that she likes her task. I hope she’ll come to her senses one afternoon and quit, but until then, I know I have to get used to living in a sona.
