Temp control for instruments

“Music is life” is my roomate Victoria’s motto.

  • Victoria loves music, and she is very gifted in that area.

As a child, she learned to play the piano and the guitar very well. In college, she majored in music, and she has been learning to play new instruments ever since then. Victoria and I have been best friends forever, and I love her very dearly. So, I can never say no when she asks to buy a new instrument. We are renting a three bedroom apartment just so she can have an entire room dedicated to her instruments. I really enjoy listening to her play, and I enjoy going to her many recitals. As of right now, she has over ten different instruments that she plays on a regular basis. She has thousands of dollars worth of instruments, and that is why we have to make sure that we keep our apartment at the right temperature. Thankfully, we have a new HVAC system throughout our home which makes maintaining the right temperature very easy. Basically, we have to avoid any climate extremes. If our house gets too warm or too cold, it can damage the instruments which would be a catastrophe. Our greatest enemy when it comes to the instruments is moisture. Moisture can ruin an instrument very quickly. We have four dehumidifiers running throughout the entire day in our apartment just to make sure the moisture levels don’t get too high. It is a lot of work to maintain Victoria’s collection of instruments, but it is well worth the effort.
