Home fires are surprisingly more in Winter than any other time of the year, however one may wonder why this is so when it is practically freezing out there. However, this phenomenon is official for us in the HVAC industry as the two of us have been called countless times to come to rectify HVAC units that were almost burnt to crisp & sporadically even replace those that are irreparable… Funny thing is that when such accidents occur, the homeowner only canked up the temperature control in a estimate to force the furnace to produce a lot more heat for the family, what many people do not realize is that these systems are created in such a way that they can only heat upto a certain level that is considered safe & satisfactory. Therefore, pushing your component to over supply when it was not meant to go beyond certain temperatures is a recipe for disaster. Some of the fire cases are not related to the manipulating of heat pumps & furnaces. They occur when homeowners forget the alternative heat sources such as portable heating systems & leave them overnight or when they forget to switch them off when they leave the home early in the morning. Some of these gadgets are only meant to be a temporary solution & should be switched off immediately after use. Sadly, accidents happen even when they are triggered by homeowners! It is therefore important to take insurance on your HVAC proposal because you never suppose when something may go wrong; Even more importantly is to ensure that you use the heating component well to avoid these fires in the first site, and never light a furnace if you are unsure, but also, the moment you suspect that there could be a malfunction that you do not comprehend, call your HVAC serviceman immediately to assess & repair it. The last thing you what is a furnace blowing up in your face.
