Radiant heated flooring was the thing I never knew I wanted

If you live in a cold area like I do then you know that you want to have as many heating devices as you can to keep your home warm. Having one heating device is simply not enough. What if that one breaks down? It is absolutely necessary that you have some kind of backup. For me I have three different heating systems. I have my main heating system which is my gas furnace, I also have a small portable space heater and I’m lucky enough to have a home that has a built-in fireplace. I used to cast furnace the most and it is what I rely on the most during the winter to keep me warm, however if I’m looking for some extra heat then I’ll take the space heater into the bedroom with me at night when it is extra cold to keep me warm so I can get a good night’s sleep. The fireplace I do not use all that often but it makes a great decor during the holidays and after all if all else fails it can serve as a place to keep warm. Everyone always flocks to the heating and AC businesses every time there is a sale going on, nobody wants to miss out on a great deal on a heating device. I knew a friend of mine that only had one heating device and that was our central heating unit and they ended up in a really bad situation when one winter it broke down. I allowed them to stay with me while the HVAC tech repaired their heater. After that they too went out and bought a space heater. If there’s one thing I’ve learned when living in a cold area, it’s that you do not want to mess with the winter.
