The house had been kneeling empty for numerous years, so while it looked clean, it stinked stale and funky. Both of us knew going in that after so long it would need a lot of little things done to it, plus a few giant things like replacing the carpets. Both of us got all the labor done within a couple weeks, and made huge strides before moving in. That first night I observed that something was still a bit musty in the seasoned house. My wife had some concerns with dust irritations, as well, so I knew every one of us had missed something. The culprit was the old, dirty HVAC duct method in the site, which had never been cleaned before, apparently. I removed 1 of the air vents in the living room, and stuck a flashlight inside to look around. I was stunned, because never before did I think just how filthy and dirty the inside of an HVAC duct could get! It looked like someone had opened up a full vacuum container and emptied it out inside the HVAC duct. Correction, I mean it looked like someone had opened up a hundred vacuum bags inside that HVAC duct! Even if every one of us could reach in there to sweep it out, every one of us knew that all of the HVAC ducts were this filthy and every one of us couldn’t clean them all. He had to call a local Heating and Air Conditioning tech and request a full cleaning. It took just a few minutes, and when she was done the tech told us that she had never seen HVAC duct this filthy before… just like me!
