Why is it so cold in the store?

I labor section time in a comic store; Well, it used to be a comic store way back when, however it had to evolve with the times; Now the store carries games, toys, songs, imported animation on disc, and books plus comics, so I like to call it a One Stop Nerd Shop, in any event, it still operates mostly like a comic book shop, and that’s why I like working there.

I get to hang out with fellow nerds while I was in my shift, and get a discount on everything I buy.

One of the most pressing things about working here is the control component for the climate control system; Before I worked in this locale I was always curious as to why they kept the control component turned down so low all the time, and now I know. Cold temps and low humidity levels are optimum for seasoned comics and other kinds of collectables, so the AC runs so much for their benefits, not that of the clients. If anything, the Heating and Air Conditioning method is utilized to make people more uncomfortable, which makes sense when you think about it. When the clients are made too cold by the AC, they do not sweat or project extra moisture into the air, nor do they hang around any longer than needed. If it is nice and comfortable then more people will hang out and read comics, however the frigid AC will keep that from happening. Of course, now that I labor here I need to wear a heavy jacket to labor every day to offset the frigid cold air conditioner, however at least I get to read comics all day.
