I have dealt with chronic pain for most of my life.
I was in a car accident when I was young, and my injuries didn’t truly show themselves until my young adulthood, and since I wasn’t aware that I had back injuries when I was younger, I wasn’t as careful as I should have been playing sports and lifting weights.
Since I am not a fan of prescription painkillers, I have various other methods of managing my back pain, such as stretches, breathwork, and a few holistic topical remedies. One thing I observed was that if it was too hot in my room, my back pain would be more noticeable, periodically making it so I couldn’t sleep. I found myself getting up often in the night to adjust my thermostat, which would keep me up late at night, and prevent me from getting a satisfactory amount of rest. One morning, after a painful, sleepless night, I called my Heating and A/C provider to come inspect my system, but the Heating and A/C company was able to send a professional to my home quickly, and he discovered that I had a faulty thermostat..A new thermostat was the solution to my fluctuating temperature. I decided to upgrade to a smart thermostat so that if I needed to adjust the thermostat, I could simply open the app on my phone and adjust it from there, however, since I upgraded my thermostat. I haven’t had to adjust the temperature in my home nearly as much. The consistent temperature of our a/c has let me sleep comfortably through the night, without being bothered by my back pain.
