Someday I am going to add a ductless mini split to my shed.
I work out everyday in my shed and temperature control is a problem.
I rely on a box fan in the summer and it hardly works. I usually get up around 8 am to work out because the weather is cool at that time. By the time I finish working out, I am covered in sweat and gross. I slip, slide and have a terrible workout. I really need a real air conditioner during those 90 degree days. The winter time isn’t much better. I do the reverse. I wait all day for the warmest part of the day. I also have a space heater that I pre-heat for maybe two hours before I go in there. I still walk into my shed with long pants and a sweatshirt. I need to be barefoot and I hate it all winter long. A ductless mini split would provide even heating for the whole shed. Honestly, a ductless HVAC option might be too powerful. I do like the idea that I can connect multiple indoor air handlers to the same outdoor unit though. My husband’s tool shed is right next door to mine. I could easily put a mini split in his space. I know he is worried about his tools rusting in the summer without any AC. A mini split would benefit him as well. It would be a high initial expense to provide HVAC to spaces for certain hours of the day. I think it would really change our lives for the better though.
