Matt and I have been friends for the longest time.
We grew up next door to one another and went to all the same schools.
Unfortunately, while in high school, Matt fell with the wrong crowd and began using drugs. I went on to join university and he stayed back home to go to community college. However, we never lost touch and I even had him come visit me in school several times. I always promised to help him out when I made it since Matt had watched my back a lot growing up. After graduation, I got a wonderful job that came with a house and several other perks. It came with everything one could ever need including an excellent air conditioning system. Anyone who knows me knows how much I value a good air conditioning system. It gets too hot and humid in the area so it makes sense a house should have the most efficient cooling system. I had Matt come live with me as he tried to find work in the city. It was a better place for job hunting than back home where opportunities were limited. One evening I got home only to find the house was hot and muggy. That was odd since the air conditioning system was working effectively that morning when I left for work. Upon asking Matt what had happened, he informed me at some point the unit started shutting down and turning on. This went on for some time so he decided to fix it even though he isn’t a qualified HVAC technician. I’ve never been so mad as I was with Matt for messing with the air conditioning system.
