Before the Winter began I had an HVAC professional come out to check the boiler system.
He looked around the whole thing & opened it up.
He was saying how the inner workings of the machines were in excellent condition & it didn’t even need to be cleaned. He also remarked that the system must have wonderful water because in some arenas, these systems will show more signs of extreme deterioration. He suspected that this boiler was at least 40 years old, which was surprising to me. The piping was all in perfect condition & the boiler system worked just fine. I just thought I needed a tune-up. He was saying how the newest boiler systems would require more maintenance, because they don’t build these systems the way they used to. I suspected that both of us could get another decade out of the heater system which I appreciated. Then he observed there was a leak coming from my water boiler. He said this thing absolutely had to be replaced instantly. I asked him what kind of water furnace or boiler I should get, & said I would easily go to Lowes for something. The guy stopped me cold & said that I didn’t want one of those cheap water furnaces because they are not built to last very long. He said to just go for something love a Bradford White water oil furnace because they are built better and stronger, with interior glass linings to prevent deterioration. I told him the job was his if he could get the water heater. It was a couple nights later when he came out with the new water oil furnace & installed it for me. He also was telling me that I need to consider going for a ductless mini split air conditioner in the Springtime, to have the best cooling system for my home. I think I will be calling the professional during the Springtime to take care of that!
