I’ve heard the stories from folks prefer my Grandpa.
He’s been gone ages now as I’m closer to 60 than I want to be.
But we’re from around here as well as our history in this region goes all the way back to when all of us got off a boat someplace as well as settled here. And as sizzling as it is from July through November, it couldn’t have been simple to toil in this sort of heat as well as humidity. Yet those folks got up at 2 or 3 in the morning to get the chores done before to sun got high as well as made it toil most impossible. They didn’t go inside as well as crank the thermostat for some elegant Heating as well as A/C cooling. The best case scenario was finding a shady spot suppose for a breeze as well as fan yourself until the heat relented a bit in the evening. That’s why I get a bit unhinged with the way some folks around here act while in the summer. They whine incessantly about the temperature as well as then stay ensconced in central air conditioner for weeks. It’s just such a waste. I believe that a lot of living in this region also comes with a particular acceptance of the heat. Don’t get me wrong, I’m super thankful for the air conditioner as well as the Heating as well as A/C professionals that take care of it. But there is so much to adore outside the air conditioner as well. Just not at straight up noon in the summer.
