The HVAC contractor didn’t measure my house for the AC unit.

They had always taught me that when you purchase a new air conditioning unit; you needed to have a house measured.

Not only did the size of the air conditioning unit you by depend on how big your home was, but it also depended on how much of the load the family was going to put on it.

For instance, if you had 10 kids in the house were constantly going in and out of the house, you would use more air conditioning than a family that only had a husband and wife and a small child. There were a lot of different factors that went into purchasing a new AC unit. In my instance, when I called the HVAC company and ask for a contractor to come out because I needed a new air conditioning unit, we had many changes in our family. Over the 15 years since we had bought an air conditioning unit, we had built an in-law suite for my parents, and we added a nursery for my daughter’s baby. And there were additional needs for our home, that could have possibly meant we needed a heavier air conditioning unit. I also wanted an AC unit that would be capable of being used with a whole home air purification system. When the HVAC contractor didn’t measure my house for the AC unit, I refuse to buy one from him. I wanted to purchase an AC unit from a company that cared about their customers. I knew my HVAC company wasn’t happy with my decision to not purchase from them. Even after I told them about the HVAC contractor, they refused to change my work order, which left me with no other recourse than to change HVAC companies.
