You save currency, plus those disposable air filters you didn’t buy don’t end up in landfills. It is worth looking into washable filters, also known as electrostatic or permanent filters, because they can pay for themselves over time. As the return air is drawn into the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C system, disposable air filters trap particles in the fibers by trapping them in the fibers. When air passes through a washable air filter, made of many layers of vented metal, particles are attracted by static charge. When particles accumulate on the filter, they need to be washed away or the filter will cease to work. In general, electrostatic air filters are fantastic at collecting dust particles, but not as effective at stopping particles like mold spores plus pet dander. Electrostatic air filters, however, are of reasonable appeal to many homeowners that they are willing to switch over to them. You will need to scrub these filters every 1-3 weeks if you switch to these filters. Some models require you to take them apart plus scrub the layers, a process that wears out the filters over time. Before reinstalling the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C unit, they must also be thoroughly dried. Furthermore, electrostatic filters eliminate the hassle of constantly replacing plus discarding air filters. Although they won’t last forever, they should last between 3 plus five years on average.
