It’s been quite a journey, but I can finally say I am living in my dream home.
At some point this all seemed like a far-fetched dream.
When my husband and I got a divorce, he made sure I left with very little money. This is despite us having a joint account. Later I learned he had even changed the house to only feature his name. I was lucky we didn’t have any kids, otherwise, I would have been in some deep shit. My parents were there for me until I was back on my feet. Then, I hit the ground running and began building the life I wanted for myself. 8 years later, I just bought my dream house and have completed some great upgrades. My best feature in this house is the heated flooring. I remember the first time I got to experience heated flooring at the home of a friend. She didn’t just have radiant floor heating in the bathrooms. It was in every part of the house and made the space feel amazing. She explained to me the whole process and cost of getting heated flooring in your home. I must admit it’s not a cheap investment to make. But, she won’t have to worry about replacing this heating system for the next two decades. So, the high cost is worth it given how good heated flooring is for a home. I had the HVAC company in my area come in and do an assessment. After I accepted the quote they gave me, I also had to hire a contractor to remove the floor so work can begin on heated flooring. This year will be my first winter enjoying heated flooring in my home.
