My wife and I moved back home after spending many years abroad.
We got to live and work in some amazing places across the world.
This all started because she got a scholarship to study her post-grad in another country. At that time, we were married and had one child. My wife and I made the decision to take a leap of faith and see what the future holds for us. That was the best decision ever since we got to live in that country while raising our baby. I began working for an AC company in the area and got immense experience running that place. When we moved back home, I decided to start a small heating and cooling business to ensure we still have an income. My wife had had enough of the corporate life and wanted a slower pace of life. We have hired 3 HVAC experts who service homes in the area and the business is doing great. My husband also joins them for maintenance and repair jobs when the calls are too many. Soon we might be hiring a few more HVAC experts. The area we moved to is growing and more homes are requiring heating and cooling. My wife jokes that this is the opposite of slowing down. But, she also admits she’d be too bored sitting in the house all day and not working. I think what we needed to do was move back home and start the small business. The community feeling and knowing all our customers by name feels so much better than working with numbers on a sheet of paper.
